Normally, the power hammer default postion is lift the ram and hold on. this will make the hammer run in the forging step at once, but it will increase the motor starting amp and may will bring accident. we suggest you operate the hammer like what happen in the video, there are advantages as below:
1th, this way will reduce the starting amp. The hammer’s default position is hanging the ram, the motor is on-load now. if at this position starts the hammer will increase the motor starting amp.
2th, Turn off. if the hammer shuts down at the holding-on position, the ram will still hang on the top if cylinder sealing is good, and will fall suddenly after the air comes out continuously. That will be dangerous. so someone put in one piece of wood or billet between the dies.
